TAI CHI TRAINING WEEKEND 2020
FEB 28/29 & MARCH 1 CHATEAU FRANDEUX (BE)
FEB 28/29 & MARCH 1 CHATEAU FRANDEUX (BE)
The Rising Spirit Tai Chi Weekend 2019 had a complete new setup and was quite exciting to offer for many different reasons. It was a stimulation experience and offered a great foundation to build upon. You may expect a dynamic RSWE2020. Together with Carina an Wendy, we will be ready for you.
2019 opened the door for international participation. Expectations were high with the addition of the participants from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom as well as teaching the whole weekend English. Fortunately, Flemish/Dutch attendants were not to uncomfortable with the English language used to teach Tai Chi and luckily the English understood me as well. But more importantly that any inconvenience on my part, the program inspired us all.
The actual training program has grown out of Rising Spirit's evolution. Unknown exercises as “Dolphin” and “Valley” were a bit odd at first, but as more layers of depth were trained, it strengthened faith and stimulated further motivation to practice. We offer a strong foundation with simple exercises that give meaning to your Tai Chi. This year, including a recap of those basics, I would like to bring everybody a step further. Even if you’d follow classes in Rising Spirit regularly, the RSWE2020 will offer a deeper insight.
Once again we ask for a basic knowledge of the Golden Flower Tai Chi sequence. You know at least half of it and not be afraid to join the rest of the form. On a practical note, this means you understand the form up to “single whip” after “cloud hands” or more.
The hall, the rooms and meals are a pleasant addition to the weekend. The 2019 weekend counted 26 participants on this new location in Frandeux (near Rochefort), but the infrastructure will suit 32 participants quite nicely.
RSWE2020 will again provide nice meals for the carnivores as well as the herbivores among us. The cook Geert Groffen offers a wide variety for any preference. If required, you can inform us about your culinary intolerances during your enrollment.
We do not prioritize outside practice, but if the weather allows, we’ll give it a shot. Think about layered clothing, separate shoes, gloves and cap.
Everyone takes responsibility for their own transport. Give us a shout if necessary, we will help where we can. There is a train station not too far from our location.
Check-in starts at 5pm and our meal starts at 6pm on Friday Februari 28th. Do join us in time to enjoy the start of the weekend together. On the Sunday we will practice the whole afternoon and have a meal together. Local people will have enough time to get home.
Chateaux Frandeux venue offers its facilities from Friday evening up to Monday mornings. So you are allowed to stay until 9am Monday March 2nd. This extra night has proven to come in handy if you have a longer travel ahead.
